Summary

Retreat House Caretaker position was an opportunity to express my seasoned and creative background preparing delicious, and healthy meals for all of our guests. Service oriented, providing a calm peaceful environment for our guests attending personal or in person retreats with a teacher.

When Covid 19 hit, we shifted to doing all the retreats online, using Zoom platform.

I was the administrator for all retreats, which means I would open and close the room, introduce our retreat facilitator, go over housekeeping rules, manage timekeeping for breakout rooms, so the instructor could focus on teaching the retreat.


The host position was an opportunity to showcase my outgoing, friendly and upbeat personality while providing the best experience for our guests and members attending the Foundation Room.

  • I worked for the "Foundation Room" team. We also had private events which I would be scheduled for. For example, birthday parties, weddings, member events, as well as special concert events for up to 200 people. Whole house events were also a part of my work experience being part of a large team to help make the event run smooth and keep the house clean for the guests.

  • Created menus, prepared meals for guests, performed all aspects of food service for our guests. Provided breakfast, lunch & dinner for up to 50 people.

  • Disinfected and mopped bathrooms to keep facilities sanitary and clean.
  • Managed budgets for household expenses to optimize resource allocation and reduce costs.

I was responsible for opening and closing the sanctuary (room), introducing the scheduled speakers, made announcements on upcoming retreats and events.
