Shoko Ota

After working as a flight attendant, I worked in the administrative department of a life insurance company, and then worked for many years as an interior designer in the US. Now, having slowed down my main career and entered my own senior years, I find time to participate in volunteer activities for the elderly. I was unable to be with my mother in Japan during her final days. Driven by that regret, I saw a job posting for care staff last year, applied, and was hired. For about four and a half months, I worked at a pace of about a few days/week, 11-12hrs/day. While I lacked specialized caregiving knowledge, my innate desire to help people, combined with skills honed throughout my career, allowed me to quickly grasp the essentials of the job.

Today, I am seeking opportunities for further contribution at a larger nursing care agency.
