Weightlifting - My favorite way to cope with stress has been vigorous exercise, particularly weightlifting. I love the satisfaction of slowly but consistently getting stronger in my lifts. Over four years, the amount of weight I can squat has gone from 275lbs to over 500lbs.
Astronomy - I spend most clear dark-sky nights outdoors with my 8-inch Dobsonian reflector telescope. I always go for my 32mm Plossl eyepiece when viewing large, deep-space objects. I love the challenging process of “star-hopping” from one star to another, moving in between constellations as I slowly arrive at an area of space that contains the object I’m after. I’ve currently located seven nebulae, four galaxies, and 11 open star clusters.
