Shreya Shah

As an aspiring premedical student, my clinical and research experiences have shaped my passion for improving patient care and health outcomes. Working closely with physicians and patients in urology and community care settings has allowed me to see how research directly informs treatment decisions and quality of life. From assisting with procedures and reviewing clinical data to supporting vulnerable patients, I am driven to contribute to research that translates into meaningful, patient-centered outcomes.

• Gleason Scores as a Predictor of Genetic Biomarker Expression in Prostate Cancer with Decipher Genetic GRID results : Western IRB–approved retrospective analysis of 150 biopsy-confirmed prostate cancer patients using the Decipher GRID genomic classifier to correlate Gleason scores with expression of 60 genes across 10 molecular pathways, identifying tumor proliferation biomarkers as the strongest independent predictor of aggressive disease (p < 0.001) presented at the Society of Robotic Surgery Annual Meeting (Strasbourg, France) and selected for presentation at the Southeast Section AUA Meeting (Rio Grande, Puerto Rico).
• IPSC Research Assistant : Conducted sterile culture, expansion, passaging, and storage of human bone marrow–derived iPSCs while evaluating the effects of vitamin E on cellular viability and growth to explore potential therapeutic approaches for chromosome disorders.

President for Xtraordinary Joy (April 2024 - May 2026)

• Advocating for Xq27-28 deletion by raising awareness, supporting the community through special needs events, and organizing inclusive fundraisers like a Masquerade ball and Night to Shine Prom.

Chief of Programming for Solace (May 2024 - May 2026)

• Designing and leading crafts and events for geriatric population at Alzheimer’s place, and cancer patients at UF Shands Hospital to provide companionship and raise awareness.

Special Olympics Unified Partner (January 2024 - May 2026)

• Unified Partner, providing one-on-one support to athletes during competitions for Cheerleading and during Workout Buddy sessions, and competing at regional and state-level events.

Dance Marathon Family Relations Captain (August 2023 - May 2026)

• Sharing miracle families’ stories and raising awareness to support fundraising and community engagement for UF Health Shands

Rangeelo Raas Competition (August 2022 - May 2026)

• Serving as representative, liaison, and mixer director to coordinate and manage a national dance competition with teams from all over the nation.

Gatoraas Dance Team (August 2022 - May 2026)

• Performing and competing with the team at national events across multiple states.
