Work History

PF 2022 Powertrain Engineer

Purdue FSAE
West Lafayette, IN
08.2021 - Current
  • Completed series of onboarding assignments to begin production work on powertrain of PF '22.
  • Utilized i2 MoTeC software to determine appropriate fuel tank size by referencing 2021 FSAE Michigan Endurance event data. Added channel and analyzed track design.
  • Modeled tank using Siemens NX following FSAE rulebook standards. Parts include fuel lines, HydraMat, chassis tabs, rubber mounts, etc. Received much assistance from powertrain leads and other tenured students at FSAE.
  • Placed 2nd overall at Michigan Event in June 2022.
  • Began researching PF '23 plans over summer.

Traffic City Mitigation

Purdue University
West Lafayette, IN
11.2021 - 12.2021
  • Developed "smart" railing system utilizing Arduino Uno, ultrasonic sensor, time module, breadboard booster pack, power bank, and servo motors.
  • Produced parameter-based CAD bike and railing models. Conducted stress analyses measuring 1st principle stress and shear stress. Documented minimum and maximum pressure samples in MPa for aluminum, steel, copper, and various alloys.
  • Improved overall effectiveness by decreasing polling rate of ultrasonic sensor from 1000 Hz to 200 Hz, and modified thresholds and parameters on sensor to allow substantial reliability within 2-meter vicinity. Led to 92% accurate detection rate.

RSEF Competition

LCPS Regional Science Fair
Ashburn, VA
10.2020 - 06.2021
  • Partnered with student to develop an autonomous underwater vehicle (AUV) to replace human labor of maintenance of underwater offshore pipelines with automation.
  • Conducted 20-minute long surveys that analyzed pipelines and any potential problems via photoresistor light camera module. Measured data variables such as pressure, pipeline perspective distance, pH, and depth.
  • Placed 2nd in AIHA (Outstanding Project in Environmental, Health & Safety) and received IEEE Award (Technology Excellence Award)

Education

  • i2 MoTeC, OpenRocket

Leadership

Purdue Mechanical Engineering Ambassadors, 01/2022 - Current

  • Contributed to Student Activities Committee at PMEA by planning events, socials, and general outreach of program. Organized various events that involved labor and creative proposals to elicit as many members and students as possible.

LoveBox: Personalized Gifting, 01/2022 - 05/2022

  • Mentored by Oscar Moralez (a serial entrepreneur). Sought to disrupt the time-consuming, overpriced, and unoriginal market of gift giving.
  • Conceptualized S.W.O.T analysis, constructed a business model, identified barriers-to-entry, and quantified market size with TAM/SAM/SOM model. Created a rudimentary, all-inclusive app that allowed users to construct and order customized gifts.
  • Placed 2nd in a competition judged by entrepreneurs Doug Curry, Riley Gibb, and Oscar Moralez.

Extracurricular Activities

Bechtel Innovation Center Mill Project, 01/2022 - 05/2022

  • Completed a course that introduced projects in Bechtel Center at Purdue. Topics covered in CAD and during training modules include facing, roughing, finishing, and turning.
  • Design project included consideration of tolerances/fitting. Final design consisted of a locational interference fit with a H7/p6 combination for a parameter-based fidget spinner model.

ASME Motorboat Competition, 02/2022 - 05/2022

  • Collaborated with 6 other students to develop and create a series of low-fidelity motorboat prototypes to compete in an event at Purdue Co-Rec. Improved overall lap time with aerodynamic adjustments made from modeling in Siemens NX.
