  • Expertise in post operative recovery of cardiothoracic patients including heart transplants, lung transplants, cardiac surgery, complex thoracic and vascular cases.
  • Coordinated recovery of these patients from OR with multiple teams (ICU, CT Surgery, Advanced Lung Disease) while navigating hemodynamic instability, interpreting lab results, regulating vasopressors and inotropes, and operating any devices including VAD, IABP, Impella, ECMO and CRRT.
  • Worked with respiratory therapists to wean ventilator dependent patients to extubation and care of post-tracheotomy patients. Experienced with adjunct respiratory interventions such as inhaled nitric oxide and prostacyclin therapy.
  • As charge nurse on ICC performed active role in hospital wide Code Blue team helping set up lines, push medications and interpret rhythms. In addition, supported unit nurses, ancillary staff and providers while also planning staffing, creating assignments and regulating admits and discharges.
  • In the preceptor role, onboarded new hires to the standards of care, UCSF policy and procedures, and provided resourcing for staff nurses training on new devices and therapies.
