Why Alaska?

After flying at Horizon for nearly four years, I know firsthand what spending my Career at Alaska Airlines means. I will have a company that has my back when I make decisions in the interest of safety, continue to make a place where people feel welcome, and look forward to a future with a sustainably growing Airline. I've spent my life living near Seattle and being able to work for my home airline would be a dream come true, especially as we go global with Hawaiian.

Flight hours/ Certificates

  • ATP certificate- DHC-8 (Q400) and ERJ-170 ratings
  • Part 121- 240 hours PIC/ 1620 hours total
  • Total time- 3252 hours

My qualities

  • Levelheaded- I focus on the bigger picture during flight operations, take count of what needs to get done and set priorities. Safety always tops the list.
  • Encouraging- I lift people up and make sure their voice is heard. Whether that means as a part of the flight crew, or in general. People feel like they can come to me if there is something that needs to be addressed.
  • Reliable- People know when they ask me to do something, I go beyond. I show up early to the flight, get done what's required, then get a head start on what could be next.
  • Progress Oriented- I take feedback from fellow crewmembers and use it to improve. I know people aren't perfect and neither am I, but it's important to have grace and humility to make us stronger in the long run.

Affiliations

  • Horizon Pilot Development Mentor program- Providing future airline pilots with a friend or someone they can confide in as they make their way through their aviation career.
  • Washington Trails Association- Volunteering to improve and maintain trails for fellow Washingtonians can enjoy.
  • Japanese language study- Self studied for over 10 years and have a Japanese friend that I talk to on a weekly basis.
  • Layover activities- I like to go Geocaching or invite crewmembers to go for walks/ bike rides on long overnights.
  • I love to cook. I take pride in being able to eat home cooked meals for almost entire trips.
