I am a Sophomore at Michigan State University, majoring in Astrophysics and a member of the Charles Drew Science Scholars program and Honors College. I am dedicated to exploring the universe through my studies, bringing a strong work ethic, curiosity, and a willingness to learn to all aspects of my academic and personal life. I am eager to apply my skills and knowledge in both academic and extracurricular settings, contributing to a community of like-minded individuals and embracing new challenges with enthusiasm.
As a research assistant, I analyze data from the Gaia space telescope to study systems that include transiting brown dwarfs and possible white dwarf companions. I work with Python to clean and organize large datasets, calculate stellar properties, and create color magnitude diagrams to help interpret the systems characteristics. I also review scientific literature, and help prepare figures and materials that support ongoing research and presentations.
At Sparty's, I worked as a cashier, where I handled customer transactions, processed payments, and ensured a smooth checkout experience for all customers. I also managed the stocking of shelves and keeping up with the store's fast-paced environment. Additionally, I assisted with food preparation, ensuring that the food service area was clean, organized, and well-stocked to meet customer demands.
At Bilbo's Pizza, I was responsible for greeting and seating customers, handling dine-in and to-go orders, processing payments as a cashier, and supporting the kitchen staff by preparing salads and assisting with food preparation tasks. I handled phone orders, ensuring timely and accurate order processing. My role required multitasking, attention to detail, and maintaining a clean and organized front-of-house environment to provide a positive dining experience.
