I started out working as a Maintenance Of Way laborer and became a heavy equipment operator....later I became a locomotive engineer but I retained my seniority in MofW and traveled all over the system working train derailments as a heavy equipment operator......holding dual seniority is no longer allowed on the Union Pacific RR.... when I retired from the RR. I bought my own 18 wheeler dump truck and formed my own company Southern Transportation ...I sold the truck and stopped working in April . 2023

after graduating from high school in 1971 I went to work for the Lufkin Fire Dept. in Lufkin Texas... I became the second paramedic to be licensed in area 9.... I held this position for 5 years but later went to work for the railroad to earn a better salary,,,

• Operated firefighting equipment, including hoses and ladders, during training and real emergencies.
• Performed life-saving procedures during medical emergencies, administering CPR and first aid as needed.
• Responded to emergency medical calls to perform lifesaving procedures and other emergency medical services.
• Drove and operated structural pumpers, tankers, ladders, and service vehicles to aid in rescue operations.
