In the 7+ years I have worked at Target, I have held many roles.
- I started as a style team member where I honed my skills in merchandising and visual standards. I learned how to market softlines retail using mannequins and outfitting presentations.
- I utilize these skills when I became the Visual Merchandising Captain at Target after being mentored by the previous Visual Merchandiser for a year in their development program. In that role I was the supervisor over the visual aspects of the store's complete remodel in 2021. I ran a team team of 5-10 and was responsible for the planning and execution of resetting the store's entire apparel salesfloor, all home decor, outdoor living, and nursery displays and plano-gram sets.
- From that role I was promoted to a Style Team Leader, where I learned more of the logistics side of being a leader. I gained experience in managing truck team productivity and maintaining inventory levels through adequate price change and merchandising practices.
- Target underwent a change of processes that renamed my role to a Specialty Sales Team Leader and I changed my focus from soft lines retail over to hard lines, with a heavy involvement in seasonal and home areas.
- Later I accepted a role as General Merchandise Team Lead, staying on to manage the same areas.
