Justice Epstein Sacramento Court Judicial Internship

Through this internship I received first hand experience of the varying court systems in Sacramento County. Overseeing court proceedings in the Superior and Supreme Court as well as the Juvenile and Family Courts. Attending weekly meetings that were lead by current judges and other court staff, or touring many different correctional facilties. Further, I was responsible for logging self motivated hours of court observations. The internship provided extensive knowledge regarding the inner workings of the court systems as well as the employment opportunities they offered. The final project for the internship required a moot court argument with a panel of three Justices, all currently serving in different courts throughout Sacramento. I was responsible for creating an appellate brief and presenting an argument on an ongoing Supreme Court case. This required extensive legal research and legal writing abilities prior to the start of my Law School education and law based employment. I completed this internship during my final semester at Sacramento State in the Spring of 2018.
