• Provide leadership to the Board's Finance and Accounting strategy, to optimize the company’s financial performance and strategic position.
• Take overall control of the company’s accounting function.
• Contribute fully to the development of company strategy across all areas of the business, challenging assumptions and decision-making as appropriate and providing financial analysis and guidance on all activities, plans, targets, and business drivers.
• Ensure that the company’s financial systems are robust, compliant and support current activities and future growth.
• Lead and develop finance teams.
• Form a close working relationship with the President, other Senior Executives, and Non-Executives.
• Work with senior teams to grow the business, formulating strategies and plans.

• Ensure corporate budgeting processes are carried out and reviewed.
• Take ultimate responsibility for the company's cash management policies.
• Present annual accounts to stakeholders.
• Ensure that the regulatory requirements of all statutory bodies are met.
• Corporate finance: manage company policies regarding capital requirements, debt, taxation, equity, disposals, and acquisitions, as appropriate.
• Establish high credibility and manage strong working relationships with external parties including customers and advisors.
• Manage various projects and ensure meeting the expected outcomes.

• SYSTEMS’ DESIGN AND IMPLEMENTATION

Designing, implementing, monitoring, and evaluating financial and related systems of the company to ensure undisturbed financial and related operations.

• BUDGETING

To ensure that the budgeting process for the organization is carried out within the given parameters and delivered on time.

• FINANCIAL REPORTING

Ensure all financial reports are produced accurately and delivered within the agreed timelines

• FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT

To ensure efficient and effective financial management

• GENERAL ADMINISTRATION INCLUDING HUMAN RESOURCES ADMINISTRATION

Responsible for general and Human Resources administration

• CREDIT CONTROL AND LIQUIDITY MANAGEMENT

Ensuring that there are smooth ICT operations in the company

• EXECUTIVE MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES

To carry out Executive Management responsibilities such as:

• Contributing to the establishment of the organization’s long-term plans and strategy formulation through coordination with other departmental heads.
• Being the main advisor to management on financial matters.
• Participating in corporate policy development as a member of the Executive Management.
• Engaging the Finance and Investment Committees of the Board to develop short, medium, and long-term financial and investment plans and projections.
• Preparation of quarterly Board papers for reporting to the Board.
• Representing the company to financial partners, including financial institutions, investors, auditors, public officials, and other executives

• Preparing scorecards and management accounts on a monthly basis and analyzing key financial and other performance indicators.
• Preparing budgets and reviews of the whole company
• Preparing compliance report to Tanzania Insurance Regulatory Authority.
• Preparing schedules to support financial statements for Audit purposes.
• Assisting CFO with investment and risk management.
• Preparing and circulating Reinsurance returns.
• Review of monthly bank reconciliation.
• Ensuring timely submission of VAT and Withholding taxes and returns on a monthly basis.
• Maintaining proper books of accounts and records.
• Improving and developing the implementation of financial policies, procedures, and systems of internal controls.
• Continually review developments in corporate governance, and advise on good governance practices and compliance with Corporate Governance norms.

• Collaborated with the executive team in the preparation of annual capital and operating budgets, forecasts, and all financial reporting and analysis.
• Led organizational cash flow and cash flow forecasting initiatives.
• Prepared accurate financial reports and monthly statements for Group and management.
• Preparing Income Tax computation and providing entries to relevant ledger accounts.
• Preparing additional management reports like Staff Costs analysis, Reserve reconciliation, Investments in associates template, and Commentaries on key line items of the income statement.
• Preparing insurance technical accounts like earned revenue and incurred expense providing entries to relevant ledger accounts.
• Computation of insurance technical reserves like unearned premium reserves, Incurred but not reported claims, unexpired risk reserves, and deferred acquisition costs.
• Preparing quarterly reinsurance proportional treaty accounts and filling the reinsures and guiding the posting of entries into the General ledger.
• Updating, Reconciling, and following up on payments with trade debtors and creditors.
• Preparing withholding tax, VAT return, Monthly bank reconciliation, and Maintaining the fixed asset register
