  • Operated a cash register, first as my main duty as a cashier for ten months, then when promoted to CSS, to cover breaks and reduce checkout lines. I also performed more complex register functions such as inputting customer information for tax-exempt status or removing names from company cards.
  • Verified cash deposits before they were sent to the bank. This involved double-checking the reported cash amounts, sorting live checks, and condensing the final deposit to larger bills that couldn't be easily used for change. Afterward, I counted the safe to make certain that it came to the even amount it started with. On average I handled deposits daily of anywhere between 4000, to 12,000 dollars, depending on the day or month.
  • Filled in for positions around the store when needed. For example, when the store loader was on break, often times I would help customers get their items to their vehicles or help them load heavier items located outside the store. When a department specialist was not available, I would lead customers to specific products within the store, during which I gained a general knowledge of many items.
