I am a high school junior who has developed a deep interest in medicine, especially in pediatrics and obstetrics/gynecology, through years of clinical experience, research, and leadership. I lead a neonatal research project on Family Integrated Care, where I conduct surveys, review literature, and work with Central Valley communities to improve support systems and raise awareness about inequalities in infant and maternal healthcare. This project is currently under peer review for publication in the National High School Research Journal. Alongside this, I started the Birthing Equity Initiative to raise funds for doula training and expand outreach to Nepal, partnering with Peaceful Passages to create educational programs and advocate for holistic birth care. I also serve as an officer in ConnectMe, a tutoring nonprofit, where I tutor underserved students every week, mentor over 30 students through a local penpal program I founded, and manage outreach for the organization, dedicating more than 90 hours to helping it grow. Clinically, I have volunteered over 70 hours at Valley Children’s Hospital, gained hands-on experience in a CTE medical class with hospital rotations under physician guidance, and shadowed multiple specialties to learn patient care, diagnostics, and teamwork. I am CPR certified and have contributed over 45 hours with Teens That Care, participating in hospitals, shelters, and community projects, often leading initiatives to help vulnerable populations. All of these experiences have strengthened my skills, taught me the importance of leadership and health equity, and inspired me to keep learning so I can become a physician who truly makes a difference in people’s lives.
