Responsibilities:

• Staff Management: Assign and monitor nursing staff to ensure coordinated and timely delivery of care.
• Team Support: Provide consultation, resources, and problem-solving assistance to team members, addressing barriers to care delivery.
• Patient Care: Deliver comprehensive healthcare to inmates, including responding to acute illnesses, medical emergencies, psychiatric assessments, alcohol/drug disorders, and managing chronic conditions.
• Standards Compliance: Learn, understand, and follow correctional healthcare standards as dictated by the facility.
• Interdisciplinary Consultation: Collaborate with mental health providers, dental, and medical professionals to address patient concerns and provide holistic care.
• Crisis Response: Respond rapidly to psychiatric or medical emergencies, implementing crisis prevention interventions to control and de-escalate situations.
• Patient Referrals: Refer patients for further assessment or treatment to medical, dental, or mental health providers as necessary.
• Safety & Security: Act swiftly to situations impacting safety and security, utilizing crisis prevention strategies.
• Issue Resolution: Investigate and resolve issues affecting patient care and team performance.
• Communication: Work closely with the healthcare team to plan, implement, and enhance treatment strategies for optimal patient outcomes.
