Summary

In July of 2015 I began my career as a school bus driver with the Ware County Board of Education. I greatly enjoy children & serving families providing safe transportation for our most precious cargo daily. I started driving knowing I'd want to grow within the industry in various roles ultimately becoming a Supervisor mentoring drivers & leading them daily.

During my time with Ware I had the opportunity to work in the Bus Shop performing Monthly Fleet inspections on the buses alongside our Mechanics. Additionally I also worked alongside the Routing Supervisor on routing & assigning Field Trips to drivers. My tenure allowed me to have training on the routing software Transfinder as well as REI School Bus video systems.

Intensive driver training from the State of GA to obtain a School Bus Class B P/S CDL as well as locally with defensive driver courses. Driving a 90 Passenger School Bus through a serpentine road course both in forward & reverse was required to keep our skills fresh. In the last 6 years I've went thru various training and served on several committees in our school system. In January of 2020 I took the driver trainer course given by the State Department of Education and pass both the test and presentation and was certified as a driver trainer. When Covid 19 hit my school system got together a reopen committee that I was selected to join to give a insight on the challenges we faced in transportation to leaders of The BOE. In November of 2021 I left Ware County School System to join the Pierce County School System as their driver trainer and route driver. I came in under a new director and no trainer before me. I came in and started a training program from scratch that seems to successfully work. In January of 2022 I went through trainer recertification from the Georgia Department of Education and became recertified. in July of 2022 I took over the secretary role at our transportation department handling buswhere and field trips along with my other duties. To say I love my job is a understatement this is what I was born to do and I hope to keep excelling and reach my goal of one day being a director and leading a awesome team of drivers, monitors, mechanics, and office staff.
