I am a Junior at the University of Utah Studying Mechanical Engineering with Honors. I have a diverse skill set that I am always looking to add to and have hands-on experience with the prototyping, building, and design of robots, pumps, and structures. I am a great team player and have worked on numerous jobs and projects where teamwork is critical to success. After reading about the history of the semiconductor in "Chip Wars" I was amazed to find a key player in that history having a location in my home state of Montana. The underlying goal of pursuing my degree in Mechanical Engineering has always been to combine my passion for the outdoors, love of physics, and to better the world through technology. Applied Materials and the semiconductor industry look to be a place I can contribute to while continuing to pursue these goals.
Mechatronics Project (in progress): Work in teams of 4 to build an autonomous robot capable of collecting blocks, sensing their color, and placing them on a chassis appropriately.
- Create CAD models in SOLIDWORKS
- Solder motors and servos
- Code an autonomous navigation and block selection program in Arduino and Matlab
- Work within project and budget constraints
Freshmen Water Pump Project: Worked in a 3-person team to design, prototype, and build a centrifugal water pump capable of pumping 8 gal/min
- Model an Impeller and pump casing in SOLIDWORKS
- Troubleshoot gear ratios, pipe layout, and fluid flow
- Worked within project and budget constraints
