Sloan Selvy

I am currently a junior at the University of Mississippi, pursuing a degree in Allied Health on the pre-Physician Assistant track. With a commitment to advancing my career in the medical field, I have maintained a GPA of 3.5 or higher throughout my college studies.

In the spring semester of my freshman year, I gained valuable hands-on experience by shadowing at Life Dental every Tuesday. This opportunity enhanced my understanding of patient support and the operational aspects of a dental practice. Additionally, I am currently shadowing at Shell Plastic Surgery in Oxford, MS, where I have had the privilege of observing both office procedures and emergency room activities. This experience includes watching surgical procedures and participating in post-operative patient examinations, further solidifying my clinical skills.

These shadowing opportunities have strengthened my communication and leadership abilities, and I have become more confident in my interactions with patients, effectively addressing their questions and concerns regarding their medical experiences. I possess a strong work ethic that I intend to carry into every future role.

My analytical thinking, communication skills, and teamwork capabilities allow me to adapt quickly to new environments. I am eager to contribute to team success while continuously developing my professional skills, bringing a positive attitude and a commitment to lifelong learning and growth.
