Relevance of my educational qualification and experience to the Job: I have a unique combination of expertise in civil engineering and environmental engineering, complemented by a successful track record in environmental and social (ES) risk management within World Bank-funded projects. My educational background includes a degree in Civil Engineering, followed by an M.Sc in Environmental Engineering and an M.Engg in Advanced Engineering Management. I have extensive experience in the public sector, specifically in overseeing large-scale infrastructure projects. My knowledge includes a comprehensive understanding of ES risk assessment and management in the construction sector, as well as expertise in analyzing bidding documents and their relationship to ES risk management. Furthermore, I possess a strong background in solid waste management, including research, training, and designing sanitary landfills and other alternative methods for solid waste management. Knowledge and experience on ESF: I am an accredited Environmental Specialist and have in depth knowledge on ESF and related Bank policies, directives, procedures and guidance notes. I worked as ADM responsible Environmental Specialist during preparation of many High-Risk projects under ESF including numerous Substantial and Moderate risk projects since my joining, I provided safeguard supervision support to more than a dozen of projects which include Category A projects under the old safeguard policy. Also supporting implementation of a number of projects where risk category ranges from High to Moderate. Working as Overall experience: I have more than 20 years of professional experience with more than 12 years experience in the Environment Sector. I worked in public organizations (Local Government Engineering Department and Public Works Department), NGO (CARE Bangladesh) and Academic Institute (International Training Networking Center of BUET as Training and technology Specialist). Led the Environment and GIS unit of Integrated Food Security Program (IFSP) of CARE Bangladesh as the Technical Coordinator for 2 years. I have more than eight years of working experience in the WB. Experience in Solid Waste Management: Have working experience in a Center of a leading Engineering university of Bangldesh namely ITN Center for Water Supply and Waste Management as Training and Technology Specialist where I was involved with a number of research activities on Solidwaste management and responsible for organizing training program on solid waste management for the sector professionals. Have advance training on solid waste management and currently contributing to the design of sanitary landfill in one of the largest Economic Zones of Bangladesh funded by the World Bank as part of the PRIDE project.
