As Editor-in-Chief at UMaine, I oversee the newspaper and the 50+ staff members who contribute. My primary responsibilities include running weekly production meetings, editing and approving all content prior to publication, advising/training students and contributing across different sections as needed. I am always on call to answer questions and solve problems as they arise.
Throughout second year at as an undergraduate student, I held an editorial board position at the Maine Campus. As News Editor, I coordinated and assigned stories to a staff of reporters. The role includes frequent communication with community leaders, editing articles for content, structure and style, working within an editorial staff of six to produce the paper on a weekly basis and helping writers develop their skills through consistent feedback. I contributed over 75 articles throughout two semesters, including a weekly Police Beat column.
