The Sammy Center is a unique space dedicated to preschool age children who have been affected by trauma and Adverse Childhood Experiences. I assisted children to engage activities fostering their social emotional well-being and provided emotional support and guidance to children during difficult times.
As a research assistant of the Data Entry team and the Electronic Medical Records team in the BABY (Baby Affect and Behavior Study) project, I have entered the responses obtained during the Life Stress Interview, as well as the medical information related to pregnancy and delivery, into statistical software, SPSS.
I helped with classroom management, supported students understanding contents, and held tutoring sessions (office hours) twice a week.
I gave a lecture titled 'Ukraine war's trauma and children's mental health: Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder' as a representative of the University of Utah Asia Campus psychology major. In addition, in the forum's intensive course, I mentor students to construct the forum presentation about 'Effects of Children's Exposure to Violence and Their Solutions'.
I participated in a non-face-to-face education program for building self-esteem and learning English as a mentor which I developed in NGO. In this program, I also published the English storybook, 'The story of our happiness', with 43 underprivileged children and 18 mentors.
I developed 1-year non-face-to-face education program for building self-esteem and learning English for 80 underprivileged children in South Korea and oversaw the program. As the program had been growing, I wrote many business plans and monitored them, while also serving as 32 mentors to underprivileged children.
As a special lecture lecturer, I gave lectures on SDGs and self-esteem for elementary school students.
I taught Korean to five children of North Korean defectors every once a week for two years.
