  • MOB Program in Behavioral Neuroscience, Duke University, Durham, NC, 05/2010, 08/2010, Researcher, An undergraduate summer research program that allowed research mentorship with participating faculty members. Participated in team research in the field of behavioral neuroscience, studying animal learning and behavior as well as integrative neuroscience. More specifically conducted research on the role of glial cells in addictive behaviors, schizophrenia, anxiety and depression. Collective data via the innate immune system’s pattern recognition receptors, toll-like receptors (TLRs), provided evidence for the influence of early immune activation on neural and immune system development; the role that the brain’s immune response plays in cognition, disparate challenges during perinatal period of life, and treatment decisions.
