Currently assigned to the K9 Unit with K9 Taz and a member of the Special Response Team (SRT). Perform specialized K9 and tactical operations in support of public safety, proactive enforcement, and high-risk incidents. Regularly assist outside agencies and collaborate with partner units to support multi-jurisdictional operations, training, and mission objectives.

K9 & Operational Responsibilities:

• Conduct K9 operations for narcotics detection during traffic stops, public events, and targeted enforcement efforts
• Train and certify K9 partners in tracking, apprehension, obedience, and control
• Develop and implement training protocols to ensure consistent K9 performance standards
• Maintain the health, conditioning, and operational readiness of a highly trained police K9
• Participate in community-oriented policing initiatives, including K9 demonstrations and public engagement

SRT / Tactical Responsibilities:

• Execute tactical operations in high-stress and dynamic environments to ensure officer and public safety
• Collaborate with team members to develop and implement strategic response plans for various scenarios
• Assist with recruitment and selection of new SRT members based on skills, experience, and team compatibility
• Maintain a high level of physical fitness, tactical proficiency, and marksmanship
• Participate in ongoing professional development to stay current on best practices in tactical and SRT operations

Assigned to the Strategically Assigned Officer (SAO) Unit, a proactive street-level enforcement team focused on crime suppression and quality-of-life issues. Worked narcotics enforcement, School Resource Officer duties, and criminal investigations while supporting intelligence-led policing initiatives. Played an active role in proactive patrol and problem-solving efforts within assigned areas.

SAO / Investigative Responsibilities:

• Conducted thorough criminal investigations, including evidence collection, interviews, and detailed report preparation
• Collaborated with local and regional law enforcement agencies to enhance response strategies and operational efficiency
• Reduced criminal activity in assigned areas through proactive policing, targeted enforcement, and community engagement

Leadership & Training:

• Mentored new officers on departmental protocols, procedures, and effective communication in high-pressure environments
• Assisted in training new officers on policies and procedures, fostering professionalism and accountability

• Assigned to patrol. Created strong relationships with students, faculty, and staff. Engaged with citizens and enforced traffic violations.

Completed a certified K9 handler course and was assigned as an Explosive Detection K9 Handler. Trained, handled, and maintained an explosive detection K9 in support of high-profile security operations. Assigned to major events, including NFL games, where proactive threat detection and public safety were critical.

Explosive Detection K9 Responsibilities:

• Conducted systematic explosive detection sweeps of stadiums, venues, and secured areas
• Maintained the training, health, and operational readiness of an explosive detection K9
• Supported large-scale event security operations requiring coordination with multiple agencies and security partners

Responded to calls for service involving crimes against persons and property, conducted enforcement and investigative actions, and consistently exercised sound judgment under high-stress and rapidly evolving conditions. Selected for undercover assignment with the Department of Motor Vehicles based on performance, discretion, and reliability.
