  • Perform duties as a labor/delivery nurse, post partum, post op gyn patients, and also pre-op and PACU for obstetrical-related surgeries.
  • Relief Charge Nurse since September 2017
  • Labor skills may include IV starts, monitoring labor progress, fetal monitoring, magnesium sulfate administration, insulin drips, indwelling foley catheters. I also work in triage, assessing patients utilizing critical thinking and clinical tools.
  • Postpartum duties include monitoring vital signs and assessments for both mom and baby. Medication administrations for all of the above are included.
  • I prep patients for cesarean section, postpartum tubal, d&c, and cerclage placements. I often circulate and recover, in pacu, these mentioned surgeries; adhering to sterile procedures and ensuring a safe environment for the patient.

    As a clinical nurse manager I oversaw a staff of 25 medical assistants and clinic aides. I ensured the flow of patient care throughout the day with clinicians seeing up to 200 patients in a day.

    The clinic was made up of 8 pediatricians and 4 pediatric nurse practitioners. I worked on their schedules throughout the year.

    I held monthly staff meetings, providing updated policies and protocols to the staff. I would work as clinical nurse one day a week, administering vaccines, nebulizer treatments, spirometry, limited x-rays, lab draws, and patient education materials to parents.
