  • Routinely communicate changes to beneficiaries Social Security record via correspondence and/or telephone contact.
  • Examine incoming materials such as reports of death, claims for underpayments due for deceased beneficiaries, routing them to the appropriate discipline or component within the agency.
  • Consult with Claims Specialist regarding claim adjudication and other unresolved claims issues.
  • Route or fax materials to other components of Social Security such as Field Offices and other processing centers when the processing center I belong to does not have jurisdiction over the determinations made for a beneficiary.
  • Gain proficiency in applying the laws and procedures under the Social Security Act (also known as POMS) to further assist with coding actions in systems and finalizing determinations.
  • Execute daily work assignments given by management in the order of priority to assist with completing assignments.
  • Collaborate with other disciplines within the same component to further understand how and what determinations should be made.
