• Collaborated with therapists, psychiatrists, mental health associates, pediatricians, and fellow nurses to develop patient care plans tailored to each individual resident.

• Frequently implemented infection control protocols to minimize the rapid spread of illness that occurs in long term care facilities.

•Promptly and skillfully responding to medical emergenices including overdoses, suicide attempts, allergic reactions, etc.

•Demonstrating excellent communication and de-escalation skills to diffuse tense and potentially dangerous situations.

•Extensive experience of providing care for a wide variety of medical conditions including active detox symptoms from alcohol, colostomies/urostomies, lice, pressure ulcers, burns, lacerations, and blunt force trauma.

•Frequently performing clinical skills such as drawing labs, placing TB tests, wound care, administering vaccines, administering insulin, and obtaining vitals and physical assessments on acutely ill inmates housed in our medical unit.
