Skilled Laboratory Research Assistant with significant background in conducting experiments and collecting data. Strengths include strong analytical skills, ability to handle laboratory equipment, and familiarity with research methodologies. Demonstrated track record of contributing to successful research projects and maintaining high standards of safety. I am a reliable, determined student with previous lab experience. I am proficient in lab instrumentation, laboratory practices, and data analysis and interpretation. I have previous lab research experience working in the Department of Pediatrics and Department of Cardiovascular Disease and Development at Indiana University School of Medicine. During my time working at this lab I performed PCR, gel electrophoresis, sectioning, immunostaining and have also passed the training for the management of experimental mice in 3 months and participated in the genotyping of mice in the lab. I am a graduate of Indiana University- Purdue University Indianapolis with a B.A. in Biology. I have taken several undergraduate courses that have allowed me to have extensive knowledge in the lab. I am efficient in performing gel electrophoresis, pipetting, titrations, staining microscopic specimens, identifying organisms with a dissecting microscope as well as a compound microscope, and identifying the anatomy and physiology of animals. I am currently working to get my masters in biology and eventually get my PhD. in Biology to do a focus in research.
