As a Spanish teacher with over five years of experience in language teaching, I am passionate about continued professional growth in the field. I possess enthusiasm for engaging all levels of learners with extensive knowledge of the Spanish language, Hispanic cultures, history, and dialectal diversity across Spanish-speaking regions through an array of student-centered learning approaches to ensure effective and meaningful connections with the material. I strive to promote awareness of marginalized non-Hispanic languages and cultures located within Spanish-speaking regions to further enrich the curriculum. Experience in teaching at prestigious institutions, such as the Universidad de Chile, the Comptroller General of the Republic of Chile and the Chilean Naval Academy, underscores my ability to cater to diverse academic and professional needs. I am adept and experienced at creating and adapting lesson plans as needed to optimize student learning while upholding curricular objectives.

Undergraduate Thesis: El Valor Contradictorio del Testimonio Indígena Guatemalteco: La Fragmentación y la Recuperación/The Contradictory Value of the Guatemalan Indigenous Testimony: Fragmentation and Recovery (08/2017 - 12/2017)
Following decades of oppressive colonialism and the most recent dictatorship in Guatemala during the second half of the twentieth century, this thesis examines the values of the literary testimony, in particular the indigenous Guatemalan testimonies that emerged in response to the nation's genocide which principally affected the indigenous communities. The inter-diocesan project, "Recuperación de Memoria Histórica," served as the cornerstone for the creation and emergence of indigenous Guatemalan testimonies, as it effectively provided a space for a historically marginalized sector of society to make its voices heard at a national and international level. Despite the objective of documenting individual truths as each victim experienced them, the process of giving testimonies has shown that it can evoke contradictory effects in the testimonialist, such as personal/cultural fragmentation and recuperation. While the act of giving a testimony has the ability to empower the victim, it also has the potential to prolong the indefinite suffering that accompanies the recollection of a traumatic period in one's life. * Please request access to document if interested.
