Enthusiastic student tutor working to help fellow students develop and maintain goal-oriented study habits for consistent academic success. Exceptionally skilled at one-on-one lessons using adaptable teaching strategies for different types of learners. Accustomed to both in-person and online instruction for flexibility. Engaged in mentoring other tutors and providing guidance.
Primary Responsibilities:
• Serve as a mentor for new hires and provide subject-specific guidance in tutoring
• Conduct observations of Peer Tutors and provide constructive feedback
• Collaborate with Coordinator and/or Graduate Assistant to plan and facilitate training opportunities
• Assist with the planning and facilitation of monthly Support Team meetings
• Assist with interviews for new Peer Tutors after midterms
Secondary Responsibilities:
• Demonstrate excellent customer service and best practices in peer tutoring
• Assist with Academic Support marketing and outreach events
• Serve as a resource referral agent connecting students to other campus services designed to benefit the Auburn Experience
• Support all CRLA International Tutor Training Certification Level I requirements
Primary Responsibilities:
• Demonstrate knowledge and competence in subject(s) tutored while hosting in-person and online sessions
• Build confidence in students’ understanding of course content and overall study skills
• Navigate a variety of technological platforms (i.e., Microsoft Teams, Zoom, Box, Advise Assist, Knack, etc.)
• Maintain accurate and timely records designed to document student attendance and participation
• Responding to requests and scheduling appointments
• Demonstrate excellent communication and customer service skills
Secondary Responsibilities:
• Assist with Academic Support marketing and outreach efforts as needed
• Serve as a resource referral agent connecting students to other campus services
