I have worked with lots of heavy equipment, light equipment, semi trucks and trailers, AC and DC electrical, and lots of hand tools. At my current job I am a farm manager and am 1 of 2 people trusted to do anything we are asked to do without doubt we'll get the job done. I am very hard working, driven, responsible and come with a good attitude for the day. I don't cause or bring drama of any kind. I come in get my work done and leave all while smiling and making other people's lives easier.
I did everything they needed me to. I ran heavy equipment most days, plenty of shovel and various other hand tool work, serviced machinery in the off-season. I can also drive semi truck pretty good. I would say I have a mid tier skill level of truck driving. I could get my CDL tomorrow if needed. In the summer I managed a group of high school kids and made sure they were doing their tasks for the summer. Kept them going and answered any questions and/or help they needed. I was their first in line if they needed anything. At the farm, I am 1 of 2 people that is trusted to do anything they ask of us without doubt that we'll get it done.
At Marathon, I helped put big wiring harnesses in big prevost coach buses. I learned how to wire up AC and DC outlets, and various other connection points. I was trusted to do all of the kitchen area in the coaches, then among a promotion I was then moved to the bedroom area, which had a lot more audio video things. I have very mild electrical knowledge but I know more than a newbie. I only worked with 120v and lower. I didn't work with live wires.
As a 14 year old, I started working for the same farm I work for now. Starting out driving combine when I was 14 then moving up in my third summer to drive seed truck at 17. I have had various other jobs in between 2020 and 2022 trying to find something I really enjoy without the long hours as farming has. I came back to Malpass Heritage Farms in 2022 because of the experience and the position offered as farm manager. I learned a lot more skills as farm manager. How to manage other people, drive and be trusted with heavy equipment and semi trucks/trailers. And work with more variety of hand tools and just overall exposure to more advanced things.
