My name is Spencer Payne and I'm currently attending my second year at UC Santa Barbara. I am a physics major, and towards the beginning of my second year I picked up applied math as a double major. I don't have much internship and research experience, but I want to change that and learn how to work in places that require physics and math, so most likely engineering firms or jobs of that sort. Ideally I would like to work at some place like Lockheed Martin, Raytheon, or with the Navy in some way, but not enlisted. I have a 3.8 cumulative GPA and a 3.87 major GPA, with my worst grade in physics being a B+ and worst grade in math being an A so I'm well rounded in those subjects. In my junior year of high school I took the ASVAB and scored the highest at my school with a score of 96 and was asked to enlist in the nuclear navy. I have good work discipline and if I encounter a problem that I can't figure out I will keep trying until it cracks or if not I seek help before it is too late.
