As an Accelerated Service Advisor you make appointments for customer cars to get serviced. Write repair orders and dispatch work to the technicians. Coordinate with parts department to make sure we have parts in stock or if we need to order parts. While the vehicle is in the shop getting worked on the technician will perform a multi-point inspection I then present the multi-point inspection and go over the green, yellow and red items on the car. If there is a failed part I go over that with the customer and explain what the function of the part is. If the customer decides to do the work I let the technician know. If it is going to be a long repair and we need the vehicle overnight I would get them set up with a loaner car. After that I keep in touch with the customer until the vehicle is done. Most of the time as an Accelerated Service Advisor you are writing repair orders for routine maintenances. Such as oil changes, brake jobs (replacing brake pads and resurfacing rotors), bulbs, batteries, tires, air filters, transmission fluid changes, brake fluid exchanges.
