High School Senior with multiple years of counseling experience, good with people of all ages and flexible in tough situations, good at consoling campers when having difficulties.
Worked at Herzl Camp in Webster, Wisconsin, as counselor in training for two months. Supervised campers, organized cabin activities, and prepared facilities for programming, fostering a positive camp environment. I did not get paid in this position but I did get free room and board. I worked alongside some 60-ish other people who were in training to become counselors. I was given around 50 hours of training throughout the course of my time there I learned emergency procedures, how to deal with problematic campers, and when to get a superior involved, as well as detailed sensitivity training.
Assisted in developing and implementing engaging programs for campers, enhancing overall experience.
Collaborated with senior counselors to ensure safety protocols were followed during activities.
Monitored camper behavior, providing support to resolve conflicts and promote positive interactions.
In August of 2025, I worked with a makeshift day camp at Wolfe Park for kids too young to go to Herzl Camp in order to help them get a feel for what it would be like if they wanted to go. I worked there for one week and provided entertainment, safety, and inclusive activities for the kids. I helped to settle disputes between campers and assist if someone got injured or was getting upset. Everyone had a great time and it really gave me a good sense of the kind of work I like to do.
