  • While working for ODOT I am in charge of maintaining the roadways to provide safe transportation for vehicles across Hardin County, OH.
  • Maintaining the roadways includes but isn't limited to: maintaining existing asphalt structures, taking care of the berm/shoulder, drainage jobs, plowing snow in the winter, keeping the roadways free of debris, and responding quickly to some emergency scenes.
  • While working for the state I learned a lot about infrastructure, roadway development and maintenance, and proper safety equipment on a job site.
  • During every task at the state I was with other HT's to accomplish a common goal. We had to work as a team at a fast pace and safety oriented manner. Safety was always the top priority and will continue to be so into my next place of work.
  • I learned a lot of valuable skills working for the state, such as working as a team, selfless tendencies, the ability to calmly and correctly complete tasks in high pressure situations, and most importantly a safety oriented approach to all tasks.

  • I started out as a Packaging Technician fresh out of High School. I was in charge of packaging prime material to the customer's specifications. I was quickly promoted to Quality Inspector, who is in charge of making sure there are no defects within prime material and knowing how to fix or note defects. Around the 1st of November 2023 I was told to learn how to operate one of our smaller lines in the event our Line Operator was absent. I learned how to run that line in a week but never got the chance to run it on my own before I eventually got a job at the Department of Transportation.
  • PSI was valuable to me because I learned how to operate heavy machinery and the safety aspects that come with it such as line of fire awareness, and always wearing proper protective equipment. I was also acclimated to the factory workers mindset with safety, productivity, and teamwork in mind.

  • I worked for ACS during the summer of my sophomore and junior year of high school.
  • While working with ACS, I was a high school student getting some experience under my belt. I helped put in an addition at Big Bear Campgrounds at Indian Lake. At Big Bear I helped lay electrical wire and set the pedestals for each campsite. I was also helping cut the land so the concrete crew could pour the concrete for each site in the right spot. The addition was approximately 80 campsites. I learned how to operate the skid loader, bobcat, roller, and even the mini backhoe. I also helped put in electrical wire in Shawnee for a trailer park extension.
  • ACS was crucial in my development of personal traits such as being a hard worker, dedication, completing tasks in a timely and safe manner, willingness to learn new skills, and teamwork.
