Contributed to a complex blower development project involving end-to-end mechanical design and documentation. Responsibilities included 3D model simplification, .STL file creation for additive manufacturing and
generation of 2D machining and casting drawings. Managed blower assembly BOMs and set up New purchased components in oracle ERP, & ensured complete data integration within the DDM System.
investigated multiple suppliers for 3D scanning of critical components like the housing and impeller, while also exploring design variations for inlet configurations. conducted detailed fitment reviews for shaft
and motor cooling fan assemblies, resolving clearance issues and enhancing overall component integration. Additionally, desinged custom exhaust flanges and suppported full documentation of the blower system
to meet manufacturing and quality standards.
Tooling Replacement for Ball bearing Endframe:
Redesigned ball bearing Endframe as per New Die casting tool and modified Ejector pins and consolidated all 6 different endframes to have common tooling for all variations & only changes to the center core details and created 3D Endframe and detail drawings and Provided STEP files to the supplier for tool development. Endshield Die cast tool Replacement was done sucessfully.
Fasco sleeve:
Reduced Field failures for shorted Main exposed to high volt cross-over wire for Trane Commercial HVAC customer. conducted Tear down analysis on failure motor & Root cause determined to be crossed-over High voltage wires under the lead bundle having sleeving that has moved or not placed properly. Reviewed and changed to Fasco sleeve design and process change for 42frame motors & created sleeve usage guidelines and provided calculation sheets for finding the endturn height with sleeves. there was no field failure obsered from the customer.
Sleeve Bearing to Ball Bearing conversion:
As sleeve bearing supplier stopped producing sleeve bearings due to raw material issue. Business Team taken decision to convert all sleeve bearing models to Ball bearing Around 200 plus models are converted to ball bearing. Prepared ball bearing calculation sheet for getting the Rotor and shaft values for PSC motor & prepared Motor layouts for this project. Co-ordinated with plant team & business team & resolve the issues. Successfully converted all the models with ball bearing.
Fasco 48 & 42 frame simplification:
Business Team has decided simplify the Fasco 42 & 48 Frame productline. Played Major Role in converting the 600 plus model from Fasco 48 frame product line to Genteq 48 Frame Hybrid Platform. Converted all EPC 42FR Models into Fasco 42fr models in ball bearing Design and we have simplified the Fasco 42fr productline from Drawing centric to Bom centric. Total 200 Plus models we have converted to ball bearing design. After simplifying the Fasco productline, the Engineering cycle time was reduced to 2days from 7 days.
Fasco shafts simplification:
In total 600 plus shaft individual drawings are exists on Fasco 42fr Productline. Simplified & consolidated these 500 plus shaft drawings into 8 Generic shaft drawings. identified all sleeve and lance cover shafts. Eliminated Duplicate shaft drawings & created, Reviewed & approved all the Generic shaft for Fasco 42Fr. " It saved Engineering time to create individual drawings and maintenance & Reduction of total 505 models including active 277 model shaft drawings to 8 shaft drawings."
