Comparative Profiling of German and Roman Chamomile Using Multi-Analytical Approaches Objective: Conduct a comprehensive analysis of the chemical compositions of German and Roman chamomile to identify their differences in active compounds and therapeutic properties., Methodology: Conducted extensive laboratory research for three months, following Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) under the supervision of the module head., Utilized High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC), Gas Chromatography (GC), and Thin Layer Chromatography (TLC) to separate and identify the chemical constituents., Performed chemical analysis to identify and compare active compounds such as apigenin and coumarin, which are known for their calming and soothing effects on the human body., Implemented pollen extraction and visualization techniques using Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) to study pollen structure and surface morphology of chamomile flowers., Key Achievements: Discovered significant differences in the chemical composition of the two chamomile species, particularly in the concentration of apigenin and coumarin, which are essential for their therapeutic use., Presented findings that contribute to the understanding of the medicinal value of chamomile and its application in pharmaceutical formulations., Collaborated with a multidisciplinary team and contributed insights into the potential use of these compounds in calming and therapeutic products.
