Stephen Selke

I am a pastor-theologian dedicated to teaching the Bible, preaching the Gospel, and training ministry leaders. I am passionate about faithfully demonstrating and fearlessly proclaiming the Gospel through all of life and have thoroughly enjoyed training graduate and undergraduate students in Australia and the United States over the last decade.

Having served students of various ages and stages for eighteen years in varied multicultural church and campus settings, I have developed a deep love for helping students flourish spiritually and intellectually in challenging environments. My greatest desire is to use my advanced degrees in ministry, theology, and biblical studies to serve the global church by helping people meet Jesus and grow to maturity in Him so that they might know, love, worship, and serve Him for God's glory, the good of others, and to their own great joy.

• Long Story Short, Executive Development Consultant, Three-month executive development project in New Zealand with Long Story Short (LSS), an evangelism and church development ministry. • Craigmore Christian Church, Executive Ministry Consultant, Executive pastoral project working with elders and senior leaders of Craigmore Christian Church (CCC) in a strategic review and operational restructuring of their church, school, and retirement village ministries. This project also involved a review of the governance, leadership and organisational structures, and wider ministry culture of CCC’s ministries, together with developing a strategic outline to address issues arising., 2014

• Student Ministry in Churches and Christian Schools, Youth Pastor, Ministry Director and Chaplain, 2006, 2011, Leading and developing youth and young adult ministries and teams in Adelaide. Roles included strategic planning, risk management, student worship services, mentoring student leaders, speaking engagements, biblical counselling and pastoral care. Southern Vales Christian College, Temple Christian College: Chaplain at two Christian colleges in Adelaide across three campuses, with responsibility for over 1100 students (R-12), together with family and staff needs as they arose. Role included pastoral counselling (with students, staff and families), student leadership development, and leading the redevelopment of chapel services among a range of other responsibilities. Aldinga Bay Baptist Church, Trinity Bay (Anglican) Church: Youth Pastor in two Adelaide churches where my roles involved developing vision, strategic ministry plans, ministry leadership teams and ongoing training and discipleship programs. These middle/high school and young adult ministries grew significantly during the time I served in these roles. Baptist Churches of South Australia: South Australian state director of youth camps for SA Baptist Churches and various other volunteer leadership roles in which I led multiple teams of leaders and pastors from across the state. Christian Schools Australia (CSA): Founded the Christian Schools Australia (CSA) Student Welfare Network in South Australia and developed a state-wide partnership between Christian Schools and University Campus Ministry groups across South Australia., 2006, 2011
• Australian Competition & Consumer Commission, Investigations Officer, Investigator with the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) investigating breaches of Australian competition and consumer protection law. Completed professional development courses in writing, communication and investigation skills., 2005, 2007
• Hungry Jack’s, Franchise Operations Manager, Eight years management experience in two franchise restaurants culminating in the role of Operations Manager with responsibility for supervising 2 restaurants and overall business profitability, stability and growth. Both restaurants received national sales growth records during my tenure as Operations Manager., 1995, 2004
