Dedicated educator, researcher, and outdoor professional with over a decade of experience in outdoor leadership, expedition management, and experiential education. Currently completing a Ph.D. in Sustainability Education with a dissertation on the efficacy of psychological first aid training in preventing stress injury formation among first responders. Experienced faculty member at Southern Oregon University and instructor with Aerie Backcountry Medicine, integrating academic rigor with field-based learning. Research and practice focus on psychological resilience, responder wellness, and the intersection of outdoor education and behavioral health. Works with program chairs to coordinate, create and update the quarterly schedule for classes in the
health education, Physical education, Outdoor Adventure leadership, and Military Science
departments
● Arranges and attends site visits at job fairs, regional universities, and academic conferences
● Hires, trains, and supervises student workers and graduate assistants in the completion of “Office
Management and Reception, and Administrative Support tasks.
● Assists director and program chairs in the initiation of tasks, contracts, and agreements
● Helps with logistical arrangements for OAL field trips
● Ensures timely, accurate, and appropriate follow-up on program-related inquiries from current and
prospective students
