I am a recent graduate of the RVCC Medical Assisting program with a background as a lifeguard, swim instructor, childcare provider, and care giver for the autistic. I have effectively navigated adverse medical situations in a calm and collect manner. As a swim instructor I tried to make learning to swim fun and inviting while also maintaining a safe environment and enforcing safety protocols. I have an extensive background in being a care provider whether that was as an aftercare assistant at my local elementary school, in the home as a care giver to an older autistic male, or as a baby sitter to a family of four ages 6 months to four years old. I am used to caring for people of all ages from all walks of life. Caring for people is what I know and I genuinely enjoy it and put everything I have into it. I am always willing to go the extra mile. I thrive at meaningful interactions and helping people. I have a genuine interest in helping others and arriving at a solution. I pride myself of being professional, always keeping my personal life separate from my professional one. I am punctual, very good at planning and optimizing my time. I am thorough, willing to see any job through. I have great people skills, I am a great listener and empathetic. Recovering from a traumatic knee surgery in the past year and a half has really given me the empathy and insight into what a patient goes through on the journey of recovery. My journey has taught me so many things that I wish to take with me in my field of healthcare.
