  • I handle all of the merchandise within the store. My Big Lots store is Leading the district in Furniture Sales in doing 1.3 million a year in just Furniture.
  • I enjoy being able to help guide our customers to the right furniture and additional home merchandise to meet their needs.
  • I also own all of the merchandise sets throughout the store, the truck unload process and stockroom organization.
  • I Grand opened a new Big lots store in Hampton, VA while simultaneously closing down their old location in the later part of 2019. We went into a brand new building and built the store from the ground up. Set the entire store in one week, and then started receiving trucks everyday to fill Merchandise the store. We hired over 100 new Big Lots employees to open that Big Lots location and found some very good talent in the process. At the same time, We were also running the liquidation process at the old location which required lots of merchandise transfers and fixture removal.
  • I am currently at the Big Lots in Virginia Beach, VA to help make that store profitable. I have been able to reset the entire store over the last 6 months and completely turned the truck team around. Now We are meeting our unload times and completing the stocking process within the two day time period.
  • We have stayed open everyday during the Covid 19 pandemic to service our customers with food, medication, and cleaning supplies.

  • I lead and completed all over the monthly merchandise sets, window changes and Mannequin displays for the store.
  • Gap gave us the freedom to make changes to the store to drive our business. I came up with and completed a department location change between Gap Men’s and Gap Baby department to really attract our core customer. It helped mothers be able to shop Gap Baby much more easily and we saw a direct increase in Gap Baby sales from the move forward.

PROFILE:

By working my way up in the Retail world, I have become a strong leader. I have a passion for working with people and enjoy a constantly changing environment. I am currently a Manager for the Norfolk Navy Exchange and I oversee the Home and Furniture department. I am used to taking on several challenging assignments at a time and putting key people in place to accomplish goals and meet deadlines.
