Summary

Having been involved in the construction industry for the majority of my life, I can navigate a construction worker attempting to finish a job, an engineer or architect combing through prints, a homeowner who needs reassurance, or the corporate sector, who requires yet another type of reassurance, just as important as the rest.

Work History

Sales

Sound Building Supply
05.2008 - 08.2024

Started back with Sound Building Supply after a 3 year hiatus with another company to fulfill an Inside Sales Position. Knowledgeable on their computer system and sales/purchasing practices allowed me to hit the ground running, as their customer base had remained similar prior to my previous exit. Customer service and order entry were my primary tasks. Soon I added purchasing building supplies and inventory management to my daily objectives, including vendor relations. I ran the Drug Free Program at the company for approx 15 years. As more employees were hired in the office, I began a training program and helped ease newer employees in to other positions, and removing less effective employees as necessary. I ran payroll through ADP for approx 2 years, before another employee was hired to relieve that duty, so I was able to focus on customer care and help with raw good projections for our purchasing manager. After being with the company for about a year, I shifted to assisting in Accounts Receivable, also later learning the Accounts Payable system, to be better be in informed on that side of the business. I worked closely with both GM's throughout my time, and the Sales Manager, helping to strengthen relationships throughout the (after assisting in launching that area), Southern Washington and Oregon markets, during transition periods without permanent Outside Sales representation in that region. As the company grew and expanded with an Idaho facility, I worked closely with the Branch Manager to ensure his ability to navigate our system, and extending his knowledge of our manufactured products.

Management Trainee/Branch Manager

RS Hughes Company
03.2005 - 06.2008

Hired in to the Management in Training program initially, learning many new products, product lines and vendor information, within Inside Sales. Worked out of the Seattle location, then working in other branches that were in need of a branch manager (Birmingham AL, Sacramento CA), before settling in an the Inside Sales Manager in Sacramento. After being there for approx 1 year, I was moved back to the Seattle branch to assist in Insides Sales, as a member of the team was retiring.

My son recently turned 13 and its all baseball, all the time - with the exception of soccer and basketball through his school, so its a good thing I have always loved the sport, and get to watch him have fun and excel at the same time! I volunteer regularly through senior programs and food banks in Central WA and locally.
