• Pursues and manages grants to support literacy achievement
• Provides professional development at the building and district level to support literacy achievement (Acadience, READ Plans, ELA Standards)
• Ensures compliance with READ Act (overseeing state reporting of READ Plans and maintaining READ Plan documents including handbook) and supports schools with transitioning READ Plans to MTSS plans.
• Designs and coordinates district-wide programs and services (i.e. READ Camps), as well as parent outreach and community partnerships to support literacy development
• Coordinates District 49's annual Leaders in Literacy Summit
• Develops and maintains Primary Literacy Schoology page and resources
• Facilitates research and development that supports increased achievement in literacy, including site visits and support with program evaluation, as well as supporting principals with data analysis
• Serves as liaison to the Colorado Department of Education Office of Literacy and Early Literacy Assessment Tool Project State Advisory Panel
• Supports Instructional Coaches in zones and schools with literacy initiatives
• Provides support for library development, professional development opportunities for librarians, and coordinates PLCs for library staff
• Collaborates with various departments to align primary literacy improvement strategies (CLDE, SPED, GT, Title I)
• Provides regular updates to administration and Board of Education regarding literacy initiatives, goals, and outcomes
