I just learned this past week that I was accepted to Western Carolina University for their Birth to K licensing program. I start January 2025. I would like to use this to become a Pre-k teacher
I am currently working as a substitute teacher in Forsyth County Schools. I have worked all grade levels including Pre-K and EC Children.
I was a business owner of Rad Dawgz and Cool Catz. Rad Dawgz was a hot dog/taco shop. Cool Catz was a ice cream shop. This was a popular hang out for locals and tourist alike. We had games upstairs so there was always children there.
I was the owner so I would do all the ordering, managing of employees and all day to day operations. I sold the business after my husband passed away.
As a Probation/Parole Officer I was responsible for supervising 80 plus offenders at a time. I would do office visits, home visits and court duties. I left this job cause I got married and moved three hours away. At that point my children were smaller and I did not know anyone for childcare.
As a School Resource Officer I was responsible for the safety of students and staff. During my time employed here I worked in elementary, middle and high schools. I also worked afterschool activates such sports, dances, meetings and other duties I was asked to do. I was went into the classroom and taught Project Challenge and other safety programs.
