Clinical Activities: The Pharmacy Technician shall provide and support clinical activities as assigned. All assigned clinical activities and functions shall be completed in accordance with approved clinical pharmacy protocols. Assigned activities include:

• 1. Routinely reviews computer medication profile for prescription duplication, therapeutic duplication, prescription noncompliance, and allergies / adverse drug reactions. Reports identified patients to assigned clinical pharmacist for evaluation.
• 2. Routinely reviews laboratory monitoring reports for selected disease states and identifies patients with lab values beyond normal limits. Reports identified patients to assigned clinical pharmacist for evaluation.
• 3. Routinely performs patient medical chart & medication profile reviews to identify poly-pharmacy situations. Reports identified patients to assigned clinical pharmacist for evaluation.
• 4. Interviews patients regarding their medication history and current usage to include VA and non-VA medications.
• 5. Documents clinical and operational activities as assigned via CPRS progress notes.
• Specializes in areas such as sterile compounding, controlled substances, medication history review, clinical specialist, Clinical informatics, automation, immunization and any other specialized area in advancement of profession.
• Serve as subject matter expert and key resource in day- to- day technician duties of specialized area
