• Collaborated with ancillary staff assessing and managing the plan of care involving admissions, post-op, and discharges of either the Neuro ICU and NIMU. Caseload was a minimum of 2-3 patients each shift.
• Assisted with bedside procedures; bronchoscopies and central lines. Performed under preceptor supervision placement or re-wiring of arterial lines.
• Presented assigned cases in daily rounds in the morning with primary and interdisciplinary team members and afternoon rounds with oncoming Neuro intensivists. Educated and discussed treatment plans with patients and families.

• With the guidance of the clinical preceptor:
• Provided history, physicals and admission orders on post cardiac interventional patient population of valve and stent placements.
• Consulted with the pulmonary transplant team on potential lung recipients along with the Life Net team, an OPO of Central Virginia.
• Round presentations of 2 patients of post CABG patients which included cases on ECMO and cardiac balloon pump. Assisted and/or performed bronchoscopies, placement of pleural space chest tubes, and removal of mediastinal chest tubes.

• Worked on hospital-wide ICU float pool team for 5 ICUs and 2 IMCs each with 18 beds or more at a 900 bed teaching facility.
• This position required extensive knowledge of critical care nursing practice across cardiac, neuro, trauma and medical surgical environments.
• Assisted providers during bedside procedures including placement of tracheostomies and percutaneous endoscopic gastronomies.

• June 2007-Oct 2008 FOB Liberty, Bagdad Iraq 450th Civil Affairs Battalion Observed/assessed Iraqi hospitals, clinics, taught nursing classes to Iraqi medical personal, worked multiple shifts TMC (Troop Medical Clinic) Riva Ridge, and 28th CSH (Combat Support Hospital) located at the Ibn Sina Hospital in Green zone, worked numerous shifts in the ICU and ED
