  • Conducted Phase III data recovery as part of the 444 Brickell/ Tequesta and 1809 Brickell excavations in Miami. Methodology included hand excavation, water-screening , hand sorting and processing in collections.
  • Gathered and processed cultural material in a variety of midden types with focus placed on proper labeling and organization practices.
  • Monitoring for construction sites along the Miami River.
  • Assisted bioarcheologists in excavating and recording late Archaic period human remains. Led the excavation, data recording, mapping, removal and storage of a dog burial.
  • Working in small crews performing hand and mechanical excavation of units. Completed block, unit, level and feature paperwork. Determined eligibility of features and appropriate excavation techniques.
  • Months spent in collections identifying various prehistoric ceramic types found in Florida (Opalocka, Dade-incised, St.Johns pinched etc.)
  • Cleaning, sorting and bagging field specimines for permanant storage.
  • Identifying hictoric materials, dating where applicable and assisting in refitting ceramic vessels.
