• Updated in-house MathCAD and Excel sheets to ensure current building codes are followed for all projects.

• Structural analysis of curtainwall, store front, and unitized systems, to ensure that system is adequately reinforced to meet code requirements for wind and seismic loading.
• Determining fastener requirement to support system and designing custom steel F and T anchors as required.
• Design of custom aluminum canopies and anchorage requirements to attach to standardized sunshade brackets.
• Glass analysis using RISA and Window Glass Design 5 to determine thickness and lamination requirements for structural glass design of handrails, skylights, and all glass canopies.
• Creating and updating spread sheets and MathCAD sheets to comply with current ASCE and Aluminum Design Manual code.
• Compiling all pertinent calculations for project calculation packets to be stamped by P.E., and submitted to glazing subcontractors.
• Providing support to in-house and outsourced drafting and project managers, to quickly provide revisions throughout project life cycle.
• Tracking engineering time used throughout project to provide accurate billing to customer and tracking time spent internally.
  

• Completion of curtainwall and store front calculations that support system choices, as well as mullion reinforcements that may be needed.
• Collaborating with drafters to ensure engineering red lines are accurately incorporated into shop drawings.
• Creating calculation packets of C-beam data, MathCAD sheets, hand calculations, and all other pertinent information for PE stamp submittals.
• Maintaining a consistent line of communication with project managers and drafters, through out the project life cycle, to quickly provide revisions on additional project submittals.
  

Application Engineering Responsibilities

• Providing creative solutions to meet customer's curtain wall, storefront, and sunshade system needs.
• Collaborating with the design assist team to provide architects custom system details to reach their project vision.
  
• Submitting air/water/structural, STC, thermal, and CRF test reports to ensure that customer's system performance requirements are met.
