- Species identification, natural history ,normal and abnormal behaviors, nutritional and supplemental needs, habitat requirements, cage preparation, enrichment, zoonotic disease control and safe handling techniques.
- Participate in actual patient care with hands-on wildlife orphan care and rehabilitation including:
• Intake protocol, charting and recording, weighing, calculating % of formula per feeding, tube feeding, wound care, administering medications, calculating dosages, parasite control, drawing and administering vaccinations, subcutaneous fluids therapy and nutritional maintenance.
- Public relations through dealing with people who find wildlife or offers advise pertaining to wildlife conflict situations, explains reuniting protocol and handles intake protocol for new arrivals.
- Safety precautions at all times while handling wildlife
- Develop enrichment activities for mental stimulation for the animals in the clinic
- Supervises, trains and instructs volunteers and high school students
