I am currently a student at Wayne State University, pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Biology with a minor in Psychology. My academic career has allowed me to blend my interests within the sciences and arts to create a unique interdisciplinary approach to my studies. My passion lies in integrating adolescent psychiatric services with physiological science. I have a strong interest in child and brain development and aim to study how early-life trauma and neglect impact the developing brain, with the goal of supporting interventions that help children with PTSD and related challenges lead healthier, more fulfilling lives.
During my time at Wayne State, I have had the honor of researching with the University of Michigan's Department of Anesthesiology to present research exploring the association between Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) and sensory sensitivity in individuals with chronic pain. This experience provided me with a deep understanding of the intersection between psychological factors and physical health.
In addition to my research, I also served as a Youth Peer Support Specialist, working with individuals receiving outpatient therapeutic treatment in Detroit and Redford, MI which allowed me to support and guide youth through their personal journeys toward better mental health and well-being.

Conducted and presented a research project through the PASE study, to evaluate the proportion of individuals exhibiting different forms of sensory sensitivity relevant to nociplastic pain, in relation to type and timing of ACEs
I provided Medicaid reimbursable peer support to eligible youth and young adults with serious emotional disturbance/serious mental illness (SED/SMI). I completed training in the MDHHS-approved curriculum and completed ongoing certification requirements.
