I was a candidate for the LLS Student Visionaries of the Year. I have worked to raise money for blood cancers by leading team meetings, making corporate sponsorship pitches with companies, and reaching out to friends, families, and neighbors for donations. As a team leader, I led my team to raise over sixty-five thousand dollars in the fight against blood cancers.
The Conejo Valley Youth Leadership program is a volunteer program that allows students to develop their leadership skills. By participating in this program for three years, I have learned how to be a better leader and role model to my peers. By listening to a variety of leaders speak about their professions, I have learned more about how to be a proactive leader in my community.
Assemblymember Jesse Gabriel hosts a Valley Day of Service once a year. I volunteer to organize all the groups, ensure all the activities are running smoothly, and gather volunteers to participate in the different service projects.
UCI MedAcademy was a five-day program that was designed to introduce students to medical careers and broaden students’ understanding of the healthcare field. I learned about working in the healthcare field through hands-on activities and patient simulations.
This two-week educational course allowed me to learn about how biometrical tools are designed, built, and marketed through hands-on activities. I then worked to propose an enhanced prototype for a biometric tool that expands its current accessibility and function.
This two-week coding course allowed me to learn about the fundamentals of user experience design, rapid prototyping, and playtesting and learn about gaming and design careers. I then designed and presented my own game that I designed.
I volunteered as a counselor for an elementary school's 5th-grade camp. I worked with students to develop confidence, leadership skills, and problem-solving skills.
I am the co-founder and co-president of the CHS Fight Leukemia Club. We founded this club to help raise awareness and money for children's leukemia. We did this by hosting meetings and informing club members of ways to raise money.
I joined the CHS Speech and Debate team in the 9th grade and competed in a debate competition. I then became president of the CHS Speech and Debate team in 10th grade and since then have worked to help teach club members how to compete in speech and debate competitions.
I have been part of the CHS Tennis team since the 9th grade. Being on the team I have learned how to work with my teammates and be a leader. During our season, we have matches and practice every weekday.
I worked to organize all of the clubs, ensuring there were no duplicate clubs, organizing club rush, and making sure all clubs were recording their minutes and staying active. I also organized blood drives throughout the year, staying in contact with the Red Cross, getting students and faculty to sign up, and providing snacks and beverages for those who donated.
